Ben Affleck’s life seems to be a tale of two Jennifers, and he’s finally opening up about it.
Ben Affleck is finally speaking out about his split from Jennifer Lopez while also sharing his appreciation for his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
In a new interview with British GQ, the Batman star reflected on his relationships as he gears up for the sequel to The Accountant – his 2016 action thriller.
In the interview, which came two months after his divorce from Lopez was finalized, Affleck made it clear that he still has ‘A LOT’ of respect for her.

While Affleck has largely stayed silent about their split, he now emphasizes that “no scandal, no soap opera, no intrigue” existed behind it.
Affleck explained why he prefers not to discuss the split in detail, admitting it’s not about placing blame but rather that “the reason I don’t want to share that is just sort of embarrassing. It feels vulnerable.”
The 52-year-old superstar rekindled his romance with Lopez in 2021, but their marriage ended when she filed for divorce in August last year after two years together.
Even after his split from Lopez, Argo actor Ben Affleck remains focused on co-parenting his three kids with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, whom he was married to for over a decade.

Recent photos show Affleck and Garner still spending time together, and while he knows people are curious about his personal life, he says what truly matters is that he and his family understand the reality of it.
“Look, I know what’s going on in my life. And also, really more importantly, my kids know. We used to have a thing, my ex-wife and I, when they would see something (on a magazine) on a supermarket stand, we would say,”
“Well, ‘You know this isn’t always true because if it were, you would have 15 brothers or sisters or whatever the number of stories is where they said that your mom was pregnant.”
He continued, “I’m really lucky that I have a really good co-parent and partner in Jennifer Garner, the kids’ mom, who’s wonderful and great and we work together well. It’s more of a headache than anything else and there certainly are worse things.”
Even with all the buzz around his relationships, the two-time Emmy Award winner says his life is actually much calmer than it seems.
“I’m sure in your mind you’re thinking, Oh, well, you just got divorced. That’s not drama-free. And I understand that instinct, but all of this is pretty adult, and for all the sensational stuff that gets written,” he told the outlet.
“If somebody sat down and talked to me about it, and I said, ‘Well, this is really the experience,’ their eyes would glaze over with boredom.”

He also spoke about his involvement in The Greatest Love Story Never Told, the third installment of Lopez’s $20 million documentary series dedicated to their relationship.
“Part of it was, ‘Okay, if I’m going to participate in this, I want to try to do it honestly and in an interesting way.’ Because I thought it was an interesting examination,” he said.
While discussing the documentary, Affleck reflected on his perspective, saying, ‘” You don’t marry a ship captain and then say, “Well, I don’t like going out in the water.” ‘You’ve got to own what you knew going into any relationship.’”
