The new claim follows Lively’s widely discussed legal dispute with her It Ends With Us co-star, Justin Baldoni.
The Gossip Girl star has been in the spotlight recently due to her ongoing legal battle with Baldoni. She has accused him of sexual harassment and orchestrating a ‘social manipulation’ campaign against her.
Baldoni, who also directed the film, has countersued Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, publicist Leslie Sloane, and Vision PR, alleging defamation, civil extortion, and interference with his career.
The case is set to be heard in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York on March 9, 2026.
Now, a fresh controversy has emerged as a fan alleges that Blake Lively followed her to her car after they both stayed at the same upscale hotel.
Houston resident Kaitlyn Cooper shared with Daily Mail that she and her mother were at The Hotel 1928 in Waco, Texas, on March 8 when she discovered Lively was also staying there.
“We caught wind that there was a VIP staying at the hotel from the front desk people when we walked in,” Cooper told the publication. “They were chatting with each other and there was just this energy in the air that something was going on.”
27-year-old Cooper said a hotel staff member hinted that if they “stuck around,” they might “see the person,” which immediately caught her attention.
She and her mother later had dinner at the hotel, where their server revealed that the mystery guest was none other than Gossip Girl star Blake Lively.
According to the server, Lively had just come from Austin, where she was promoting Another Simple Favor at the SXSW film festival, and was in town to visit Joanna Gaines, the hotel’s owner.
“We ended up finishing dinner and went back down to the lobby and sat in the lounge area, just hanging out. And shortly after that, [Lively] walked in,” she added.
According to Cooper, she started recording Lively on her phone so she could show the video to her friends.
“I just pulled up my phone and started recording a very brief clip. It was nothing exciting. I want[ed] to show my friends.”
The video taken by the her shows Lively entering the hotel reception wearing jeans and a white blouse. As soon as she notices the camera pointed at her, she raises her hand to partially shield her face.
“When she walked in she was super loud. Her voice was extremely recognizable. I think she said hi to the two people at the front desk. She looked at us. I believe she spotted us [filming her],” she explained.
At the time, Lively was with a security guard and a hotel staff member. The TikToker also noticed what appeared to be a childminder with Lively and Reynolds’ children.
The rest of the evening went by without incident, and Cooper didn’t think much of the brief encounter.
The next morning, as the Texan and her mom were loading their bags into their car to leave, Lively allegedly noticed her. This was when the It Ends With Us star’s supposed unusual behavior began.
“We were loading up our car and I heard, ‘Hi’, and it was a woman’s voice. I looked up, and see [Lively]. She’s got her phone up [as if she was recording me]. Out of instinct, I just said ‘Hi’ back, because what do you say?” she claimed.
The former fan claimed that Lively didn’t say anything but started circling their car while pretending to record her – even zooming in on their license plate.
“I was really caught off guard. She then handed her phone off to her security guy and he did another lap around the passenger side and then they both went back in [to the hotel],” said Cooper.
“We were just confused about what was happening.”
Cooper alleged that after the incident, a representative of Blake’s found her on Instagram and started keeping an eye on her posts.
She also claimed that the entire encounter happened because hotel staff members were too forthcoming, as two employees at Hotel 1928 had informed her about Lively’s stay.
“[A female staff member] told us if we hung out and stuck around we might see this person, so obviously that sparked our interest as it would for anybody,” she told Daily Mail.
