Denise decided to join the platform after noticing the success of her daughter, Sami Sheen.
Denise Richards, best known for Wild Things, has opened up about how launching an OnlyFans account with the support of her husband, Aaron Phypers, has influenced her acting career.
Known for her roles in The World Is Not Enough, Friends, Blue Mountain State, and Two and a Half Men, Richards took a new path in 2022 by joining the subscription-based platform OnlyFans.
The 54-year-old decided to try it after seeing her daughter Sami, whom she shares with Charlie Sheen, join at 18. Realizing how profitable the platform could be, Richards quickly gained popularity and secured a top spot among its creators.
On the March 25 episode of Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, she shared,
“I will say that I’m in the top one percent of creators on OnlyFans, so I am very grateful. It’s very empowering, especially for someone my age, that people still want to see me that way.”
The actress has received strong support from her husband, Aaron Phypers, whom she married in 2018. He helps manage her OnlyFans by taking photos, with Richards sharing,
“He’s so supportive. He knows what men love, and he’ll go through all the photos and say, ‘This is good. Do this. This is what guys like.’”
While her husband fully supports her, Richards admitted that she initially worried OnlyFans might hurt her career.
“When I joined OnlyFans, I was very concerned that I possibly could lose some jobs, but it was the opposite,” she continued. “I got more offers. I get roles where I’m like, the trophy wife or the sexy one.”
However, unlike her, Sami has faced more challenges because of her OnlyFans.
“I really want to get headshots done to transition into modeling. I’ve met with a couple agencies, and they don’t like that I do OnlyFans. It’s so frustrating because it’s like, that’s how I pay my rent. If you’ll take me seriously, I won’t have to do it anymore,” she said.
Richards called out the “double standard” in their experiences and questioned, “Why judge them for trying to make a living while pursuing their career?”
Despite the challenges, both she and Sami have loyal subscribers who continue to support them. For her, OnlyFans isn’t just about creating content – it’s also a way to engage with her audience.
“People think I’m just doing whatever – that’s not true,” she explained. “I actually see it as a way to connect with fans, and not in the way people assume.”
